Blueberry and banana almond *crumb cake*.
* Or East Coast coffee cake (though why you would call it a coffee cake when it contains zero % coffee is beyond me, and frankly downright deceptive).

I don’t update nearly as much as I’d like, but here’s a new one. Also incidentally the first time I’ve baked in a LONG time.

Chocolate beetroot cake.
Re-using a recipe from a long long while ago. Don’t let the vegetable fool you - this cake is extremely rich and almost too sweet for my taste, but it’s so damn pretty I can’t help but make it.

Bridget came over to the new palace and assisted in the construction of these beauties. Chewy, crispy, fragrant, delicate, heavenly.

My Sunday so far…

  • Wake up early in a foul mood.
  • Research herbal remedies to treat my dog’s anxiety (chamomile, valerian, skullcap, St John’s Wort).
  • Buy valerian for above-mentioned purpose.
  • Bake 2 loaves of olive and herb bread.
  • Make 3 jars of caramelised onion jam.
  • Drink coffee.
