26 years old and attempting First Year again…

Picking subjects is hard. I want to do everything. Anyone with experience doing a Bachelor of Arts got any advice (and no “don’t waste your time” smart-assiness please, I am actually excited about this).

Linguistics is top of my list, and I’m kinda into learning Japanese. What else should I do?

  1. grrrl-culture said: My advice is actually try and save some electives (don’t do them all in first year) so that you can do an O/S exchange for 6-12 months. When you’re on exchange centrelink pays you AND you get scholarships to pay for accommodation. XO Celeste.
  2. thedreamingland said: if you are at all considering going into teaching postgrad (which is awesome!), look at the requirements & use them when choosing subjects. I was always interested in it, and when i finally got there, i didn’t have all the classes I needed!
  3. genghisgenghiscohen said: what uni pip? i usually look at the second & third year subjects and work my way backwards! if there’s a cultural studies department that does critical theory stuff i’d recommend that!!
